1. Who we are
This website is run by Polar Flame Music Publishing Limited (“we”, “us”), 138 Comiston Road, Edinburgh EH10 5QN, United Kingdom. Email office@pfmpublishing.co.uk. Telephone +44 131 447 1117.
2. What you are buying
You are buying a digital copy of Learning The Guitar: Initial Series by Paul Boyd MBE: a PDF of 116 pages, personalised with your name and order number, together with access to the companion video lessons on this website. It is not a printed book, and nothing is posted to you.
3. Price and payment
The price is shown in pounds sterling on the book page and again at checkout. At the time of writing the introductory price is £14.99, and we intend to raise it to £19.99 later. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. We are not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is added.
Payment is taken by Stripe on its own secure page. We never see or store your card details. Your order is made when you complete payment at Stripe, and we then confirm it by supplying your download.
4. Delivery
Your download is available straight after payment, on the page you are returned to, and we email the same link to the address you gave. Your link works for 30 days and allows up to 5 downloads. If it expires or you use all five, you can ask for a fresh link at any time from the resend page.
The book is a PDF and opens in any PDF reader. You are responsible for having a device that can open it.
5. Your right to cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel a distance contract. For digital content, regulation 37 provides that you lose that right once the supply of the content has begun with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you will lose the right to cancel.
At checkout we ask you to confirm that you want your download to begin immediately and that you understand this. Once your download has been made available, the right to cancel therefore no longer applies. Your other legal rights are not affected. See our refund policy for how refunds work.
6. If something is wrong with your file
Digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If your file is damaged, will not open or does not match the description, tell us and we will replace it or refund you, as the law requires. This does not affect your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
7. How you may use the book and videos
The book and videos are protected by copyright and belong to us and to Paul Boyd MBE. Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to read the book on your own devices, to print pages for your own use, and to watch the video lessons. Please do not share, resell, upload or distribute the PDF or the video access details. Your name and order number appear on the pages so that a copy can be traced to its purchaser.
8. Video lessons
The video lessons are hosted on YouTube and listed on this website for book owners. We may add, update or reorganise lessons over time. Free lessons elsewhere on this website are available to everyone.
9. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or our negligence. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Playing the guitar involves physical effort: please take breaks and stop if you feel pain.
10. Where we sell
At launch we sell to customers in the United Kingdom. We may open further countries later.
11. Your information
How we use your personal information is explained in our privacy notice.
12. Complaints, changes and the law
If you are unhappy, please write to us first at office@pfmpublishing.co.uk and we will do our best to put it right. We may update these terms; the version on this page when you order is the one that applies to your order. These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction, but if you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
